TODAY is the day to LEARN something NEW!
Dear Families,
Welcome to our 2nd grade class! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child and working together this year to help your child succeed! As parents and guardians, I understand that you are the most important teachers in your child’s life, and it is with that understanding that I appreciate the role that you will play in helping your child to achieve the goals set forth by him or her this year.
Throughout this school year, we will be working hard to master a variety of skills in Math, Reading, Language Arts, Writing, Science, and Social Studies. I have planned a variety of activities to help your child learn these skills in ways that will be meaningful, memorable, and engaging. I love all of the subjects that I teach, but it is especially my goal to instill a lifelong passion for reading and writing in all of my students. I have very high expectations of myself as a teacher, as well as of my students, and I have always found that to be a formula for success. I want this to be an enjoyable year for all of my students, but also a productive, challenging, and encouraging year.
Communication is a huge part of your child’s success, so I will be communicating with you in a variety of ways throughout the year. If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to visit our classroom, schedule a conference, or volunteer to help out, please call the school office at (760) 952-1204 or email me at t[email protected]. You may also send a message to me through Class Dojo.
Once again, welcome to our class! I know that together we can make this a wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Burnett
